From November 11 to 13, 2024, Athens became a hub of learning, collaboration, and inspiration as KMOP hosted a Learning, Teaching, and Training Activity (LTTA) under the framework of the Seniors4Change (S4C) project. This unique event brought together senior participants from Greece, France, Portugal, Austria and Bulgaria to engage in a dynamic exchange of ideas and skills aimed at fostering active aging and lifelong learning.
Testing the training manual: A collaborative effort
The primary goal of the LTTA was to test the training manual co-developed by the project partners. This comprehensive guide is designed to provide seniors with digital skills in videography and social media, enabling them to promote climate change awareness, share their personal experiences, and encourage sustainable practices through DIY projects. Through interactive workshops, group discussions, and practical exercises, the participants provided valuable feedback on the manual, ensuring its relevance and effectiveness for diverse audiences across Europe.
Key topics addressed
Throughout the three-day event, participants engaged in a variety of enriching sessions covering diverse topics. These included embracing DIY practices for climate action, improving social media and videography skills, leveraging digital platforms for community engagement, and exploring pathways to turn hobbies into small-scale business ventures. Additionally, participants benefited from hands-on workshops, interactive discussions, and the opportunity to learn from guest experts, such as representatives from 50plus Hellas.
Looking ahead
The insights gained during the LTTA will play a crucial role in refining the training manual and shaping future project activities. By empowering seniors with the skills and confidence to take initiative in their communities, the Seniors4Change project continues to pave the way for a more inclusive and engaged society.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all participants, facilitators, and partners who made this event a resounding success. Stay tuned for more updates on the Seniors4Change project as we continue to inspire and support active aging throughout Europe!
